There are some ministers that have felt that there is much focus on the beast and its image and finally the mark of the beast. That is the Catholic Church uniting with the State, and the Evangelicals making a copy of that union in the United States. It has been said that too much is made of men like Kenneth Copeland and Rodney Howarde Browne and their desire to teach righteousness using the government.
Robert Jeffress and many of Trumps advisors are saying schools should be teaching the ten commandments.
Obviously their Sabbath would be the one that is well known as Rome’s mark.
If we truly are to teach the third angels message, then would this be an important part of it? What does the third angels message have to do with?
“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.” (Revelation 14:9-11)
Answer: A beast, an image, and a mark, and we are to give a warning concerning these issues. But as you read the following, you’ll notice that leading men are counteracting these efforts.
“The peculiar work of the third angel has not been seen in its importance. God meant that His people should be far in advance of the position which they occupy today. But now, when the time has come for them to spring into action, they have the preparation to make. When the National Reformers began to urge measures to restrict religious liberty, our leading men should have been alive to the situation and should have labored earnestly to counteract these efforts. It is not in the order of God that light has been kept from our people—the very present truth which they needed for this time. Not all our ministers who are giving the third angel’s message really understand what constitutes that message. The National Reform movement has been regarded by some as of so little importance that they have not thought it necessary to give much attention to it and have even felt that in so doing they would be giving time to questions distinct from the third angel’s message. May the Lord forgive our brethren for thus interpreting the very message for this time.” { 5T 714.2}
“Light has been kept from our people” in this time. We are being told that many do not understand the third angels message. And that is why we here silence on these matters. But God’s warning is to be given and many need to be ready for the conflict.
In other words if you read that quote carefully these ministers are saying “Don’t talk about the national Sunday Reform movements that are taking place, don’t talk about Trump, Pence, and their evangelical advisers which are advising a change in the constitution, we need to focus on Jesus and his love.” We are told that our “leading men” should be laboring “earnestly to counteract these efforts.” We are to understand about God’s love, but we are also understand the principles behind these movements, that they completely contrary to the Spirit of God. And furthermore that God has a warning to give us, but also for us to give. That is when we have that Spirit.
It is wonderful to preach love, but we are to be understanding with regards to the current trend of events.
“Those who place themselves under God’s control, to be led and guided by him, will catch the steady trend of the events ordained by him to take place. ” { RH August 5, 1902, par. 17 }
A large part of the final warning has to do with a beast, the image to the beast, and the mark of the beast. Forgive our brethren for concealing the true issue as it is making its way in darkness. May God’s glory lighten them up. (Rev 18:1)
