Recently I was sent an email about a matter of church and state which seems to be going to a whole new level and should be quite alarming to us especially if we are Seventh Day Adventists who stand up for Christian liberty. The matter is in regards to the Adventist trademark which was acquired by the General Conference of Seventh Day Adventists. I was certainly was wondering where to start. There seems to be so much to cover and little ink being used to stand up as watchmen for liberty of conscience.
Firstly, I’d like to address the spirit behind this matter. There is something far more sinister than just a surface look of someone breaking the law. We needn’t be so narrow minded in our observations since our liberty of conscience and right to worship as God commanded is slowly evaporating.
If you are a Seventh Day Adventist you may be shocked to find that it is none other than the “General Conference of Seventh Day Adventists” who is leading the way in relation to giving up our religious liberties.
Some have said we must comply with authorities and not break any of their laws. Most Adventists understand the principle that when the law of God conflicts with the law of the land “We ought to obey God rather than men”[Acts 5:29].
The following is some of the chronology published by Church and State Observer, Special Edition, Summer, 1990
1980…General Conference hires Catholic attorney to trademark the name “Seventh-day Adventist;
1981…SDA name trademarked. General Conference remains silent during a “five-year” waiting period: a time when the trademark could have been contested had it been known;
1986…General Conference took legal action against one hundred thirty-five different cases charged with violating trademark laws.
Now there is more to it than just what is listed here. There has been ongoing legal battles, imprisonments, seizures of properties and homes. This type of spirit is not the spirit of God.
Going to Law Against Brethren
1Co 6:7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
The trademark originated due to an issue with homosexuals within the church. The original SDA stance has been that homosexuality was an abomination to God. [Lev 20:13, Rom 1:20-28, 1 Cor 6:9].
In order to protect the name “Seventh Day Adventist” the General Conference took it upon them to trademark the name because an organization known as the SDA kinship, a homosexual group of Seventh Day Adventists or so-called Seventh Day Adventists was profaning the name.
Issues were arising in the church and it was discovered that some of the members of this kinship group were in high level positions within the conference church. This apparently didn’t sit well with church members, or with the conference. So action was taken. Rather than praying to God and turning to his word for guidance on this issue, the conference went to the state in order to eradicate the heretics in the conference church.
Here is the argument for trademarking the name that is used by former Seventh Day Adventist General Conference President who says “separation of church and state” is not scriptural.
“We’ve got to PROTECT that name [“Seventh-day Adventist”], because we are giving a false impression to the world…And this church/state business; be a little careful how you use that, because that is not in scripture: separation of Church and State. That is a particular North American philosophy. It exists no where else in the world.” Neal C. Wilson [Former Seventh Day Adventist General Conference President regarding the trademark], P.U.C. Sanctuary, June 18, 1988.
Well, I’m afraid that he as well as anyone supporting the General Conference trademark needs to reread their bibles. It is confessed by the conference that Ellen G. White had an inspired pen. This is one of their “fundamental beliefs” they say. Here is what she says in regards to former conference president Neil Wilson’s statement.
“They cried out for the crucifixion of Christ and, as representatives of the Jewish nation, placed themselves under the Roman jurisdiction, which they despised, by saying, ‘We have no king but Caesar.’ When they said this they unchurched themselves.” [Ellen White MR 999-4]
“They united with civil government for the enforcement of their wishes. The Jewish nation, in securing that alliance, broke their covenant relationship with God.” (Ellen White See 5BC 1149 and DA 737, 738)
“…the only position the State can take, and have the approval of God, is to guard the rights of every individual, permitting no oppression to come upon any one because of religious belief.” {Ellen White ST February 27, 1912}
She saw it in scripture. In fact a church/state union occurred at the crucifixion of Christ when they united with King Caesar.
Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
After reading that what we see is a “woman” in prophecy. She has committed fornication with the Kings of the earth. What does this fornication signify? Well, normally a church in prophecy is signified by a woman. The Kings of the earth signify “state or civil power”. A woman fornicating with the Kings of the earth is a church and state union and contrary to Neil Wilson who was acting on behalf of the Conference, church and state is biblical.
Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
The church is the lamb’s bride. The Kings of the earth represent State power upon which the church is not to rely.
Jas 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Isa 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
Isa 31:2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
Isa 31:3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.
God has said “the Egyptians are men” so you have put your trust in men or horses or armies or secular power rather than God. This is a violation of the fourth commandment which is to “rest in Christ”.
“When a religion is good, I can see that it will support itself; and when it cannot support itself, and God does not take care to support it, so that its professors are obliged to call for the HELP OF THE CIVIL POWER, it is a sign, I say, of its being a bad one.” Benjamin Franklin
“THE UNION OF THE CHURCH WITH THE STATE, BE THE DEGREE EVER SO SLIGHT, while it may appear to bring the world nearer to the church, does in reality but bring the church nearer to the world.” {Ellen White Great Controversy 297}
“WHENEVER THE CHURCH HAS OBTAINED SECULAR POWER, she has employed it to punish dissent from her doctrines. Protestant churches that have FOLLOWED IN THE STEPS OF ROME BY FORMING ALLIANCE WITH WORLDLY POWERS have manifested a similar desire to restrict liberty of conscience…” {Ellen White Great Controversy 443}
“Matters have been presented before me that have filled my soul with keen anguish. I saw men linking up arm in arm with lawyers, but God was not in their company. Having many ideas regarding the work, they go to the lawyers for help to carry out their plans. I am commissioned to say to such that they are not moving under the inspiration of the Spirit of God.” [Ellen White Testimonies 8, p.69, Paragraph 2]
The trademark is a document that can be enforced worldwide. What do they want to use this trademark for and how far is it going?
In the Official Gazette, August 18, 1981, the trademark/service mark, SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST:
Class 42 – Miscellaneous Services
For Health Care Services – Namely, Hospital, Dental, Pharmaceutical, Nursing Home, and Medical Laboratory Services, Conducting Religious Observancesand Missionary Services (U.S. Cl. 100). First use 1860; in commerce 1860.
Religious Observances Decreed by Civil Power
Among the many issues with the trademark I would have to propose that this is the biggest abomination of them all. Religious observances are being enforced by secular law. Of course they will come and sign an edict and have federal marshals come into your home and take all your goods if they have the name “Seventh Day Adventist” on them and if you continue to use that name they will eventually throw you in jail.
“Let the PRINCIPLE ONCE BE ESTABLISHED in the United States that the CHURCH MAY EMPLOY or control the POWER OF THE STATE; that RELIGIOUS OBSERVANCES MAY BE ENFORCED BY SECULAR LAWS…and the TRIUMPH OF ROME IN THIS COUNTRY IS ASSURED.” {Ellen White Great Controversy 581}.

The church=The Woman=General Conference of Seventh Day Adventists
The Civil Power=The Kings of the Earth=The United States of America
Blow it up to take a look at it. It’s official. On that is listed “religious observances”. What does the Spirit of Prophecy which according to the church’s official fundamental beliefs say about this enforcement of religious observances by civil power? She said above that on to let it be employed once. The General Conference of Seventh Day Adventists fulfilled the prophecy themselves. What is the states duty and limits in regards to matters of religion?
“To protect liberty of conscience is the duty of the state, and this is the limit of its authority in matters of religion. Every secular government that attempts to regulate or enforce religious observances by civil authority is sacrificing the very principle for which the evangelical Christians [of Sixteenth Century Germany] so nobly struggled. {Ellen White Great Controversy 201}
I shouldn’t need to comment here but the General Conference has obviously over-stepped this limit. The reason I am writing this today is this needs to stop. There are matters right before us that we as Protestants must stand up against.
“That night I dreamed that I was in Battle Creek looking out from the side glass at the door and saw a company marching up to the house, two and two. They looked stern and determined. I knew them well and turned to open the parlor door to receive them, but thought I would look again. The scene was changed. The company now presented the appearance of a Catholic procession. One bore in his hand a cross, another a reed. And as they approached, the one carrying a reed made a circle around the house, saying three times: ‘This house is proscribed. The goods must be confiscated. They have spoken against our holy order.’” [ Ellen White Testimonies for the Church Volume One, page 577]
Let’s reexamine so far:
The church has apostatized and baptized 1000’s of homosexuals into it.
Homosexuals within the organization build a ministry of their own called “SDA kinship.”
The church panics and instead of going to God they go to the kings of the earth for help.
After she has united with the state Gods call is “Come out of her my people”[Rev 18:2-4]
Now what about the name “Seventh Day Adventist”? After coming out it would seem we are no longer part of the church? Well in all actuality the word “church” is from the Greek word “ecclesia” which actually means “called out ones”. So in other words the “called out ones” are the church. We are to call ourselves “Seventh Day Adventists”.
If God called you out of the Catholic Church would you still call yourself a Christian? Yes. If God called you out of the nominal Protestant churches because they were no longer Protestants and you were still a Protestant not just in name but in principle protesting church and state unions like a true protestant does, would you still call yourself a protestant? Yes, you are a protestant if you uphold these principles.
John once said:
Mat 3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
This principle applies to us. Think not to call yourself a “Seventh Day Adventist” for God is able to raise up stones to be called “Seventh Day Adventists”. This applies to those within the conference church.
After the Jewish church fell it well be worth noting that Paul said:
Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Again, the Jewish church fell when it said we have no king but Caesar. The General Conference fell when it said we trust the United States government as our king to defend us against the homosexual group and started igniting lawsuits against them. And in this they unchurched themselves. They are no longer Jews in heart and spirit, but Jews outwardly. They are no longer Seventh Day Adventist in the heart and spirit but are “nominal Adventists” or Adventists in name only.
Now they accuse us of going out from them. This principle below applies.
“Romanists have persisted in bringing against Protestants the charge of heresy and willful separation from the true church. But these accusations apply rather to themselves. They are the ones who laid down the banner of Christ and departed from “the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” Jude 3. {Ellen White Great Controversy page 51}
Isn’t it amazing how this principle applies? We are accused of coming out, though we are justified by faith in God’s word that he has called us out of this body that has committed fornication with the kings of the earth. And we will be accused of willful separation from the true church. But it isn’t really us who left the faith, but they went out from among us.
After that they accuse us of stealing the name and breaking the law. Have we broken the law by calling ourselves “Seventh Day Adventists”? Well yes, we are in violation of the trademark if we obey the call of God to come out of her and still call ourselves “Seventh Day Adventists”. So we would by keeping Gods’ word be breaking the law of the land. But in all actuality it isn’t us who stole the name because in actuality it is them who went out from among us.
“The Constitution provides that ‘Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof’…” {Ellen White GC 442}
They are in violation of the constitution and the Spirit of prophecy. But it seems to me no one is saying anything about that. Where are the watchmen?
If you are a Seventh Day Adventist and you believe that this name should be kept according to the principle laid down in scripture and that you must come out of her because she has committed fornication with the Kings of the earth you will be in violation of the law of the land.
Ellen G. White is a prophet of God according to most Seventh Day Adventists. Here is what she wrote in regards to the name which agrees completely with the principle laid out in scripture. If you believe that she was inspired by God is this a name that you can give up according to God? Let’s read:
“Our institutions have taken a name which sets forth the character of our faith, and of this name we are NEVER to be ashamed. I have been shown that this name means much, and in adopting it we have followed the light given us from heaven…This distinctive banner is to be borne through the world to the CLOSE OF PROBATION.” {Ellen White MS 15, 1896}
It is a name to be taken to the close of probation. We are very close. A lot closer than most would believe. That’s another topic. The point here is if this pen is inspired we must obey God rather than men. We are to take this name to the close of probation. It is light from heaven and not from men.
“We are Seventh-day Adventists…It is the name the Lord has given us.” {Ellen White Letter 110,1902}.
Some say this was given by men, but it is the name the Lord has given his people. I’ve seen a lot of people coming out of the conference because of apostasy and saying the name has been “blasphemed” or “dragged through the mud” etc. Well the name “Christian” has been dragged through the mud. I’m still a Christian. The name “Jew” has been dragged through the mud. I still call myself “a Jew in the heart and spirit” just like Paul. The name “protestant” has been dragged through the mud, but I’m still a protestant.
What’s going on?
“I saw that God has honest children among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and before the plagues shall be poured out, ministers and people will be called out from these churches and will gladly receive the truth. Satan knows this; and before the loud cry of the third angel is given, he raises an excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the truth may think that God is with them. He hopes to deceive the honest and lead them to think that God is still working for the churches. But the light will shine, and all who are honest will leave the fallen churches, and take their stand with the remnant. “{Ellen White Early Writings 261}
Notice that the nominal Adventists here are likened with the fallen churches. What is a “nominal Adventist”?
Nominal = Taking a name in form only.
They say they are Adventists but are not really Adventists. This is the General Conference today.
“You think, that those who worship before the saint’s feet, (Rev 3:9), will at last be saved. Here I must differ with you; for God shewed me that this class were professed Adventists, who had fallen away, and “crucified to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame.” And in the “hour of temptation,” which is yet to come, to show out every one’s true character, they will know that they are forever lost; and overwhelmed with anguish of spirit, they will bow at the saint’s feet.” (Ellen White A Word to the Little Flock, page 12)
So there is a group that are bowing to those who are Gods people. The verse referenced here is Revelation 3:9.
Rev 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
They say they are Jews(Adventists) and are not. Let’s summarize again:

After coming out of her so that they are not partaker of her sins they are to keep the name according to Gods word which has been trademarked now according to the law of the land.
They are accused of being thieves because they keep Gods word and still maintain the true Seventh Day Adventist faith.
The church doing the accusing is in violation of the constitution themselves as well as the bible and the spirit of prophecy. And have really stolen the name themselves.
The “called out ones” also known by the word “ecclesia” or “church” are accused of leaving Gods church when it is in actuality them who left the faith delivered to the saints.
In the end these “professed Adventists” or “nominal Adventists” still in the conference will bow at the feet of the saints and know that God has loved them.
Now what is your stand? Will you stand up as a true “Christian” a “Jew in the Heart” the “Israel of God”? Will you be a “Protestant”? Are you “Abraham’s seed”? Are you a real “Seventh Day Adventist”? God is raising Seventh Day Adventists today from dirt, rocks and stones. The stones are crying out, because their are no watchmen.
I’ve kept this short in hopes that some will see the foundation of what is going on here. I have no intention of shutting up in regards to this matter.
Recently a court order was made against a group of people that call themselves Creation Seventh Day Adventists. The video is attached which documents some of the developments.
“Therefore, the magistrate judge’s report and recommendation is hereby ADOPTED in full. The Court holds the Defendant in contempt for his willful failure to abide by this Court’s orders. Pursuant to the magistrate judge’s recommendation, the Court finds that limited discovery is appropriate for the purpose of permitting Plaintiffs to ascertain the identities of those who may have acted in concert with Defendant in this matter.
Defendant is hereby ORDERED to cooperate fully with Plaintiffs in such limited discovery. The Court further finds that the following domain names and the websites located at such domain names violate the Injunction Order, and that all persons acting in concert with Defendant—including any website hosting companies and domain name registrars—are hereby ENJOINED from using or enabling the use of such domain names and websites:
(List of about 30 websites which I excluded for space which I believe have been removed from the web)
The Court further holds that Plaintiffs or their agents should be and are permitted to remove and permanently dispose of Defendant’s signs and promotional materials that violate the Injunction Order, with the costs of such removal and disposal to be taxed to Defendant.
Defendant’s counsel should accompany Plaintiffs or their agent(s) during the removal of any infringing materials, and prior to the removal of any such signs or materials, Plaintiffs’ counsel shall notify Defendant and any building managers, property owners, or landlords who may be affected. Finally, the Court ORDERS the Defendant to pay attorneys’ fees and costs to the Plaintiffs in the amount of $35,567.00.”
IT IS SO ORDERED this, the 6th day of January, 2010.

Basically, what it has become is a witch hunt. The man is down, his web presence has been eliminated and now anyone who is in concert with the defendant he is to cooperate fully with in order to ascertain information regarding those persons. He is no longer to use the name Seventh Day Adventist and they are to go to his home collect all his belongings that have this name on it and also take $35,567.00 from him. I’m not so sure about a crown of thorns and kick in the face is not next.
I work independently of the conference as well and I’m sure there are many more of us out there who would still consider ourselves “Seventh Day Adventists”. So this affects every one of us. There is no time like the present to bring this to the forefront. There is a General Conference assembly in a few months and I believe that if God wills we are to be there as protestants bringing these matters to light.
This isn’t going to end here. It will not stop. It should have stopped years ago. Why should he have to give up the name “Seventh Day Adventist” or any one of us for that matter. To me that would be like telling me to give up the name “Christian”. The church has trademarked it and if you read the actual writing of the court proceedings the church throughout it is labeled as a “business”.
John 2:16 Then he said to those who were selling pigeons, “Take these things out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a place for buying and selling!”{NCV}
So you are next. And I believe that probation is closed on the body as a whole, but not individually. Now the call is “come out of her my people, don’t be partaker of her sins”(Rev 18:4). If after coming to this light we reject it, we will be corporately accountable for the sins that the General Conference commits. Your call is now as a true “Seventh Day Adventist” one who still holds to the faith delivered to the saints to come out of her. You are also called to “Cry aloud and spare not”(Isaiah 58:1, Ezekiel 9:4, Revelation 18:1).
“He cried mightily with a loud voice”(Rev 18:1)
Eze 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
We are not to be whispering in a corner, keeping it under our breath.
“The work which the church has failed to do in a time of peace and prosperity, she will have to do in a terrible crisis, under most discouraging, forbidding, circumstances. The warnings that worldly conformity has silenced or withheld, must be given under the fiercest opposition from enemies of the faith. And at that time the superficial, conservative class, whose influence has steadily retarded the progress of the work, will renounce the faith, and take their stand with its avowed enemies, toward whom their sympathies have long been tending. These apostates will then manifest the most bitter enmity, doing all in their power to oppress and malign their former brethren, and to excite indignation against them. This day is just before us. The members of the church will individually be tested and proved. They will be placed in circumstances where they will be forced to bear witness for the truth. Many will be called to speak before councils and in courts of justice, perhaps separately and alone.” [Christian Service, page 158]
This same thing happened to the apostles “There is no new thing under the sun”(Ecc 1:9)
Act 5:27-29 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
Here we are in the same situation as the apostles. Many of us will be brought before the courts. This was prophesied and this will be where some will have to stand for their faith explaining the principles outlined in the word of God in regards to this papal spirit. Here’s what is written in the chapter “The Loud Cry” from the book “Great Controversy” by Ellen White.
“As the storm approaches, a large class who have professed faith in the third message, but have not been sanctified through it, abandon their position, and take refuge under the banner of the powers of darkness. By uniting with the world and partaking of its spirit, they come to view matters in nearly the same light; and when the test is brought, they are prepared to choose the easy, popular side. Men of talent and pleasing address, who once rejoiced in the truth, employ their powers to deceive and mislead souls. They become the most bitter enemies of their former brethren. When Sabbath-keepers are brought before the courts to answer for their faith, these apostates are the most efficient agents of Satan to misrepresent and accuse them, and by false reports and insinuations to stir up the rulers against them.”{Ellen White SP 426}
So we knew it was coming 100 years ago. Many of us have failed to pay attention though. We’ve been caught up putting rulers in place and defending them religiously rather than the conference serve us. We should be standing behind God and trusting him rather than these men.
Gamaliel had some great advice that the Jewish leaders as well as the General Conference leaders could have heeded.
Act 5:34-39 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men. For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to naught. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
So the point here is that though they brought the apostles before the courts, they told them expressly “stop teaching in this name”. They thought they could stop the message of God using state power bringing them before counsel, but here we are, ye cannot overthrow it.
I am not putting any man on a pedestal here. I don’t agree with everything Walter Mcgill has said or done. This is not a personal issue. This is far greater. I cannot stand by while the spirit of the Papacy is running down those who will stand up and defend the principles laid out in the word of God.
This is one thing that I will defend is liberty of conscience and the choice we have to worship as we will. God doesn’t defend his bride using the second beast of Revelation 13. That beast came up like a lamb and the constitution is the secret to its prosperity. But now it is speaking like a dragon. And of all the people that could use this beast it is our very own people violating the very constitution which has given them those rights.
God help us to see as the spirit of God is being withdrawn from the earth just as it was in the days of Noah. Help us to discern your spirit in these matters father. Lead your people out of Babylon. Give them eyesalve that they may see.
If you are an Adventist I pray this brings you to tears and that you will sigh and cry as God seals his people for the time of trouble such as never was.
“I saw the nominal church and nominal Adventists, like Judas, would betray us to the Catholics to obtain their influence to come against the truth. The saints then will be an obscure people, little known to the Catholics; but the churches and nominal Adventists who know of our faith and customs (for they hated us on account of the Sabbath, for they could not refute it) will betray the saints and report them to the Catholics as those who disregard the institutions of the people; that is, that they keep the Sabbath and disregard Sunday.” -2- {Ellen White SpM 1.5}
