God has a Form!!!!

“In the beginning, man was created in the likeness of God, not only in character, but in form and feature.” (Ellen G. White Great god has a form form of god Controversy 645)

God has a form. We are told in scripture that Jesus Christ “was in the form of God, and equal with God” (Phi 2:5-9) There are some today that teach that God had three forms. But the word says Christ was in the form of God. Who is God?

“To us there is but one God, the Father”(1 Corinthians 8:6)
“God is the Father of Christ;”” (Ellen White,Testimonies for the Church, vol. 8, page 268)

Regarding the nature of God and His form, James White wrote the following:

“What is God?

He is material, organized intelligence possessing both body and parts. He is in the form of Man.

What is Jesus Christ?

He is the Son of God and He is like His Father, being the brightness of the Father’s Glory and the express image of His person. He is material, intelligence with body, parts and passions, possessing immortal flesh and immortal bones.” — James White, August 19, 1858

The word tells us that God sits on a throne as the King of glory. That Christ is at His right hand. We behold this in the sanctuary above. We read in Daniel.

Dan 7:9, 13 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire…. I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

We see two beings. God and Christ. And also in Revelation.

Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

He has many bodily features. But we will notice that He and Christ are distinct individuals, and personalities.

“The Scriptures clearly indicate the relation between God and Christ, and they bring to view as clearly the personality and individuality of each. [Hebrews 1:1-5 quoted.] God is the Father of Christ; Christ is the Son of God. To Christ has been given an exalted position. He has been made equal with the Father. All the counsels of God are opened to His Son.” (Ellen White,Testimonies for the Church, vol. 8, page 268)

Some have confused Christ and God believing that both are God in respect to personality. However:

“The Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Father, is truly God in infinity, but not in personality.” (Ellen White UL 367 )

We must be careful however regarding the nature of God. Though he has a form, and Christ is in that form, this does not imply that we can know exactly what substance God is made out of. The bible does say “God is Spirit” (John 4:24) and regarding the Spirit, Jesus said a chapter earlier that the spirit is like wind. (John 3:8) We know there is wind, we can use it, but we don’t really know what it is. So, when speaking of the nature of God, this is something that is beyond our small minds even if we were told about it.

If we will look to the sanctuary, we will behold our God, and His Son Jesus Christ.

Eze 8:16 And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD’S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

Many today have turned their backs away from the sanctuary, and are worshiping other gods. God’s love is shown in and through His Son.
