New Video Sermon- Remember…the Judgments – Malachi 4:4-6

The message to Laodicea, the church of judgment is thus “Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.” (Mal 4:4)

His people are “destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge…seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God” (Hosea 4:6)

Hosea told us the results: ” Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away. ” (Hosea 4:3)

Instead of remembering, they have forgotten, and thus the land is spueing out the people. (Lev 18:24-28) There are some important principles that God wants us to understand concerning His mercy, and “the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith:” (Matt 23:23)

How do we understand why God said “Eye for an eye, and tooth for tooth.”? What about stoning? These questions are dealt with in this study in such a way that truly brings out the character of our Father, His love, His mercy, and His desire to suffer long with His people, not willing that any should perish.

If there is a study we shouldn’t miss, it is this one, as it truly helps us understand our Father and how loving He truly was back in the time of the patriarchs and prophets.

  • The New Testament Church would do well to read and study the book of Romans and Galatian.
    Romans 8:1-4 KJVS
[1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. [3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: [4] That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
    Galatians 5:13-14 KJVS
[13] For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. [14] For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Well as long as I am at it, let us include Corinthians.

    2 Corinthians 3:3 KJVS
[3] Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

God writes His laws in our mind and on our hearts using His Spirit. Follow after and be open to God cultivating the fruit of the Spirit in your lives.

    Galatians 3:2-3 KJVS
[2] This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? [3] Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

    • Amen brother, and to understand it….

      • David, a important set of verses related to the topic at hand are these.

        1 Corinthians 11:29-32 KJVS
[29] For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. [30] For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. [31] For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. [32] But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

If you read the verses in context you will see that there is nothing more important to God than how we treat fellow members of the body of Christ, because we are the Lord’s body. God chastises the sons and daughters He loves,

        Hebrews 12:6-8,11 KJVS
[6] For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. [7] If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? [8] But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. [11] Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

It is important to realize that the peaceable fruit of righteousness only are grown in our lives by God working in our lives. A small part of the Thayer definition of the Greek word translated into the English word chastened in 1Co 11:32-to chasten by the affliction of evils and calamities. The book of Job comes to mind.
