What is the Mark of the Beast?

The bible teaches us about the Mark of the Beast and it is given to those who will not be sealed as God's servants.

Rev 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. I was asked what this is recently. It is obviously an important topic, and a big part of the 3rd angels message of Revelation 14. Those who don't recieve the mark are the ones who are sealed and rest from their labors[Rev 14:11-13]. But what is this seal. Does the bible identify it clearly? Lets turn to the good book which interpets itself. God will open this truth to us leaving us without doubt. Where can we find Gods seal?

Isa 8:16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

The law is the character of God. The people of God will have God’s name written in their foreheads. [Rev 14:1, 22:4]. The seal is in the law. The law is sealed in his disciples. A name is normally assigned to a persons character throughout bible history. For example Jacob means “Supplanter” or “Thief”. While Israel means “Overcomer”. Jacob thieved his brothers blessing and that was his old character before he repented in Genesis 32. Then when he overcame with God and man he was renamed Israel.[Gen 32:28] which meant “overcomer”. The forehead normally in bible prophecy represents the mind. [Deu 6:8]. So to have Gods name written on your forehead would indicate that you have his character stamped on your mind. We are told by Paul to let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus. In fact in 1 Cor 2:14 and 2:16 the “Spirit of God” and the “Mind of Christ are used interchangeably. And they are to be in us. [John 14:23] We are to have his character, his spirit, the testimony and faith of Jesus[Rev 12:17]. In fact the hope of glory is Christ in you[Col 1:27].

1Co 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God

1Co 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

So we can see what it is to have his name written in our foreheads. All the patriarchs and angels were named with prophetic names. Lets find out where in the law this seal is contained and the depth of it. Remember that we are to be sealed in the foreheads. But there is an important principle that we will apply as we go further into this than just a surface understanding of the seal.

An official seal always has 3 distinct characteristics. Name, office, and territory.

The name of the official
The title
The territory

For instance, "Cyrus[name], King[Title] of Persia[Territory]" Ezra 1:1. Or George Bush [Name] President [Title] of the United States[territory]. When the presdent seals a document this seal of approval must be on the document.

God's seal can be found in his law as well.

Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth,

Now The LORD has a legal document that was written on stone. And he stamped his seal of approval on it.

1. Name- The LORD YHWH

2. Title- Made- Creator

3. Territory Heaven and earth.

The LORD's seal is contained in his Sabbath. So we have established a few things here. The seal is in his law [Isaiah 8:16], and it is sealed right in the heart of his document written in stone. The Sabbath Commandment [Exodus 20:11].

But Jesus said to the Pharisees that they leave the weightier matter of the law out[Matt 23:23]. They kept the Sabbath day.

What has God given us as a special "SIGN" of his power?

Eze 20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a signbetween me and them, that they might know that I am

Eze 20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God

Exo 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

The Sabbath is a special sign between God and his people. God commands us to "Remember" the Sabbath, the Christian world says "Forget" the Sabbath. Whom will you obey? This was written in stone. Normally written in stone means "unchangeable".

Also note that the Sabbath is a sign of Sanctification. We will move onto that as there is the spirit of the Law as well. And the Holy spirit does seal us.[Eph 1:13,4:30] Many Sabbath keepers don't realize that the Seventh day is just the letter of the law. And that Jesus said to the Jews who kept the letter that they had left out the weightier matters of the Law, such as "Faith". I will touch on faith here only. But firstly lets make sure we fully establish where Gods seal is.

Some will say these promises were given to National Israel.

Romans 9:6-8, "Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed."

It is not literal Israel that is the seed. But those who accept the promise of eternal life through God's son.

The words "seal," "sign," "mark," and "token" are used interchangeably throughout the Bible (compare Genesis 17:11 with Romans 4:11 and Revelation 7:3 with Ezekiel 9:4).

Rom 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith

Notice that sign and seal are interchanged in this verse. The Sabbath is the sign of Sanctification. And it says “the seal of righteousness by faith”. That may be the weightier matter of the Sabbath. The true seal. Righteousness by faith. Only by faith in the word do we keep the Sabbath. While the rest of Christianity keeps Sunday according to man's tradition with no biblical authority. But when you truly have faith we don’t just keep the letter of Sabbath.

Firstly I would like to establish that the opposite of the seal is the mark of the beast. And if you have yet to know who the beast is. It is a good idea to do a bible study on it.

Changing Times and Laws

The Second beast will enforce a mark at the end of the World.

Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

What is the mark?

Act 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

The mark is to be a law that is a manmade law that goes against the commandments of God, and will be enforced by civil power to force disobedience to their maker. As Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were forced to bow down to the image by civil laws and keep the manmade commandment in opposition to God's commandment. There is to be an image of the church and state union of the papacy[the beast] which ruled through the dark ages. If we followed manmade rules above Gods law we would then be paying homage to man rather than God. We wouldn’t be walking by faith. We wouldn’t be trusting God to deliver us just as he delivered Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. We would then be in violation of the spirit of the fourth commandment and rejecting the seal of righteousness by faith. We would be worshipping the creature[created] rather then the creator.

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

What is sin?

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

The best way to discover The beasts mark of authority is to ask the papacy directly. Notice the following section from a Catholic catechism:

"Q. Which is the Sabbath day?

"A. Saturday is the Sabbath day.

"Q. Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?

"A. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."

Q. Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?

"A. Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her--she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority."

So the papacy “changed Gods times and laws”[Dan 7:25] and is saying that its mark of power and authority is making Sunday a holy day--a change that virtually the entire Christian world bows down to. Definitely Sunday worship would be taking the Mark of the beast. To accept this day is to take the mark in the forehead[mind] and persecute those who keep it. To go along with it as if you don’t care or protest is to take the mark in the hand.[See Isaiah 56:2]

Will the seal and mark be visible or literal?

Exo 13:16 And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by

strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.

The Israelites had no visible mark on their hand or forehead. Note: token, seal, mark, sign are all interchangeable words. And "Between thine eyes" is symbolic of the head and the mind. Referring to his commandments he said:

Deu 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

Deu 11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

God is speaking of his law which in the OT was the same as the NT.

Deu 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

The mind represents a persons thoughts. "What a man thinketh, that shall he be"Pro 29:18. And the hand represents actions.

Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Hand from evil would be the mark in the hand. If we do evil we take it in the hand. If we think evil, we have not accepted the mind of Christ, and take it in the head.

1Co 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

I realize that a Sunday law is important to understand, but is also putting the church to sleep. They are saying the mark has not been imposed. Before the death decree goes forth you must be sealed. And the seal is deeper then just Sunday. There is a movement to go forth and the denominational church has been blinded into rejecting a message from 1888. A message of Righteousness that comes by faith. But yet they claim to have it. Yet they receive no persecution. There is no Sunday law yet. 120 years later. I think that it is coming. Noah preached righteousness for 120 years too. Noone listened. They claim to be increased with goods and in need of nothing. And they are about to miss the ark. There are many reasons. They only teach the letter of the law. They teach Sunday vs Saturday and leave out the weightier matter. The seal of Righteoussness by faith. The faith of Jesus. Paul said “The letter killeth”. The letter will bury many people. We like Paul are ministers of the Spirit.

2Co 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Sealed by his Holy spirit.

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,

The spirit is going to seal his disciples. The spirit of the law is the weightier matter. The weightier matter of Sabbath is faith.

The word "Rest" means "Sabbath". The three angels announce a solemn message.

Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest [Sabbath]from their labors; and their works do follow them. [Brackets added]

Saith who? The spirit... That they may "Sabbath from there labors" And the works of Christ do follow them. Many Sabbath keepers forget the weightier matter of the law. The spirit of the Law. The spirit of the law is Love. And if we love our father we will accept the gift of Jesus faith. And "Die in the Lord from henceforth”. Like Paul we can say “it is no longer I that lives but Christ who lives in me, and I live by the faith of Jesus”[Gal 2:20].

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

See the weightier matter here. How much more could it possibly be emphasized.

Gal 2:20 I am crucified [die in the Lord]with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God[faith of Jesus], who loved me, and gave himself for me.

The third angels message in one verse. The seal of the righteousness of the faith. The wicked have no "Sabbath" and therefore take the mark.

Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever: and they have no rest[Sabbath] day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.[Brackets added]

The mark of the beasts name. Now we went over what it is to receive the name of God in our forehead. It is to receive his character. So to receive the name of the beast is to receive his character. “Worshipping the creature more than the creator”[Rom 1:25]. To love the world more than God is nothing less than worshipping the beast. Worshipping what God created. Worshipping the creature.

Paul spoke of a law in Hebrews 4.

Heb 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh dayon this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works

He spoke of the Sabbath commandment.

Heb 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Now the Jews had it preached to them. They kept the Seventh Day religiously as everyone knows. They even made up new rules for the Sabbaths. But they left out the weightier matter of the law[Faith]. The opposite is unbelief.

Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. 1 John 5:4. People can't overcome or accept the sanctification because they don't believe the promises. They say it's impossible. While Christ promises "All things are possible"[Eph 4:13]. Why do they not believe him? Why do they have so little faith?

Continuing on with Paul's teaching of Rest and what true Sabbath is.

Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Rest is faith. Not of ourselves, or our own works. But only by faith.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

And then when we believe we will cease from our own works. And will become his workmanship a new creature created to do his works, and his works do follow us. Rev 14:13. Thus saith the Spirit, and that spirit is Christ. 1 Cor 3:17. That spirit seals us from the wiles of the devil, succors us, keeping us from temptation, delivering us from evil.

The antichrist "Thinks to change times and laws"Dan 7:25. But God does not change Mal 3:16. How simple and straight the path is. But many wish to establish there own righteousness. Romans 10:3.

Eze 22:26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they showed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

Eze 22:27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.

Eze 22:28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered mortar, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.

Wolves in sheeps clothing teach Sunday. The LORD has not spoken. Sunday is antichrist doctrine. The seal of the Sabbath is the sign of righteousness by faith, sealed by his spirit we keep the commandments by the faith OF Jesus Christ which is the fathers free gift to those who accept the promises of the scriptures.

2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

So we can see that the Sabbath is a sign of our sanctifation. Jesus said “sanctify them by thy word”[John 17:17]. These are precious promises. And if you “ask with faith nothing wavering”[James 1:6] You shall receive. Believe and be saved. That is the gospel. That is the seal of Righteousness by faith. That faith gives us all things that pertain to godliness that we might have his character stamped in our minds. Rather then the character of the Beast. His name written on our forehead. Sealed by the Holy spirit of promise. Do you believe his promises?
